FAQs

What areas do you serve?

1.

We are based in Bergen County, NJ and primarily serve Ridgewood, Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes, Saddle River, and surrounding towns. We also take on select projects in Morris County, NJ, Rockland County, Orange County, and Ulster County, NY.

What types of projects do you specialize in?

2.

We specialize in custom pools, full backyard transformations, and thoughtfully designed outdoor living spaces. We also take on select outdoor living enhancements such as patios, outdoor kitchens, and landscape improvements.

What is your typical project size or starting investment?

3.

Most custom pool and full backyard projects begin in the $200,000+ range, depending on scope, materials, site conditions, and integration with outdoor living features. Outdoor living enhancements and landscape improvements generally begin around $40,000+.

Who will I be working with throughout the project?

4.

Every project begins with an initial consultation led by founder Tom Flint. Once the direction and scope are established, clients work with a dedicated designer and project team, with Tom remaining involved at key milestones.

How involved are clients during the process?

5.

Our process is highly collaborative. We work closely with our clients during design and throughout construction to ensure the finished space reflects how they want to live and use their outdoor environment.

Do you handle permits, engineering, and approvals?

6.

Yes. We manage the entire permitting and approval process, including engineering, zoning compliance, and coordination with local municipalities. Our familiarity with Bergen County and surrounding areas helps streamline what can otherwise be a complex process.

Can you work with challenging properties or smaller yards?

7.

Absolutely. Many of our projects involve sloped properties, tight setbacks, wetlands considerations, or smaller footprints. Thoughtful design and experience allow us to maximize usable space while staying compliant with local zoning and environmental regulations.

Once permits are approved, construction typically takes 8–14 weeks depending on project complexity, weather, and site conditions. We provide a realistic timeline upfront and keep clients informed throughout the build.

How long does construction typically take?

8.

Can you build pools year-round?

9.

Design, engineering, and permitting can happen year round. Construction is weather dependent, but beginning the planning process in fall or winter often allows clients to secure earlier build slots for the following season.

Yes. We offer in-house maintenance services for both landscapes and pools. Our landscape maintenance division, Hickory Hill Landscape Maintenance, and our pool service division, Clearline Pool Service, allow us to care for and protect the outdoor environments we create long after construction is complete. This continuity helps protect your investment and makes ownership easier.

Do you offer maintenance after construction?

10.

Are you the right fit for every project?

11.

Our services are best suited for homeowners who value thoughtful design, clear communication, and a collaborative process. We may not be the right fit for projects focused solely on speed or lowest cost.
